Brief/Overview:

This project is based on a design brief created by James Martin (Made By James), a renowned logo and brand identity designer. The brief is part of his "Branded Type Course," which covers typographic history, principles, client applications, and more. The course ends with the MBJ Word Mark Project, where participants create a custom logotype for the MBJ brand, applying what they've learned in a practical client scenario. The project aims to enhance design thinking and the design process, including research, word mapping, sketching, and iteration.

Challenges:

Developing a custom logotype that aligns with the MBJ brand identity.

Translating typographic principles into a practical design application for a real-life client.

Navigating the process of creating a word mark from research, sketching, and iteration to final design.

Balancing creativity with client needs while adhering to design principles and guidelines.

Goals:
To create a custom word mark that reflects the MBJ brand’s identity.

To apply typographic history and principles in a real-world design project.

To build confidence in the design process, from research to final execution.

To develop a deeper understanding of client applications and how to tailor designs to specific brand needs.
