Wei X is a painter who thrives in mathematical art and conic sections to form his artworks. Wei is originally from New York and has made his home there with his family of artists. He developed his love of math from his father and art from his mother and found a way to combine his love of both while venturing through life. He attended the School of Visual Arts in New York, New York; however, he would find himself traveling to his family’s home of China for The Yale-China Artist Fellowship. This opportunity gained him international recognition. He moved back home to New York, where he continues his artistry and teaches at the school he attended, the School of Visual Arts. Wei has been featured in the International Artist Magazine, which awarded him the Abstract/Experimental Art Award.
